Mentoring Program


Expectations for Mentors


- Attend Mentor Training
- Meet with your protege approximately 4 hours a month
       -Sponsorship:
  Provide connections that will support the protege’s career advancement.
       -Impart Knowledge and Experiences: Share knowledge about specific jobs, career paths,
        organizations, industries, and business topics, that will help your protege achieve his or her   
        goals.
       -Support forward progress: Stimulate growth and preparation to move ahead by making

        positive recommendations.
       -Provide a Positive Role Model: Serve as a role model and show them the importance of   

        professionalism.
       -Give Feedback: Provide students with perspective and advice on their career path.
       -Facilitate Networking: Serve as a resource for a CSM student. Connect students to other   

        professionals.
       -Commit to Entire Program: Commit to actively participate in the 11-month fall program or 5    
        month spring program.

   1.  Download the Mentor Application and e-mail to Serena Stickney by February 9, 2008
        Or mail to: CSMAA, Mentoring Program, PO Box 1410, Golden CO 80402

   2.  Attend Mentor Training on January 23, 2008 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Ben Parker Student Center. 
        RSVP to Alison Wheelock.
   3.  Once matches are completed, establish contact with protege and work out a  
        schedule with him/her.
  4.  Attend the social with your protege at the end of the semester.
