ACE -When you’re 21, visit this historical saloon known to most miners.

Alderson Hall (Petroleum Building) -Danger: entry into this building may promote “crude” behavior.

All-nighter -a dusk-to-dawn study session.

Arthur Lakes Library -Squid Heaven.

Berthoud Hall (Geology Building) -Although it may not be your fault, or of earthshaking significance, your brain may undergo metamorphosis when in this building.

Bite Me -Letter of rejection received when applying for employment.

Black -Test that is so difficult you can’t even read it.

Blaster -Your favorite mascot that loves to eat dynamite.

Bomb -To fail (in). “I bombed Thermo.”

Bonehenge -That piece of art in Stratton Commons

Brown Building -The location of both the Mining and Basic Engineering departments. So named because to receive a good grade in classes offered in this building your nose must be _.

Brown Nose -The end result from being a “goody two- shoes” to achieve a good grade.

Brunton -An instrument used to determine dip and strike on a geologic formation

Cake -Easy, not hard; opposite of black.

Cashing Checks -The cashier, located in the Student Center, will gladly cash your personal checks up to $25.00, from 8:00 am. - 5:00 pm

Chauvenet Hall - Old Mining building. Close enough for tunnel work - As near to the correct answer as you want to get.

Clueless- Baffled. “I’m clueless in Thermo.”

Cold Spike - Direct copying of an assignment with no attempt at comprehension.

Cookbook - Routine or mechanical. “It’s a cookbook assignment.”

Coolbaugh Hall (Chemistry Building) - You’ll have plenty of chances to take a trip through the exciting world of Chem-Mystery .

Cooperate to Graduate - Students working together on an assignment, see spiking.

Coors Lab - Coors Brewery (where visitors may sample the beer.)

Credit -To pass a class. D is for done.

Diddly-squat - little or nothing. “It ain’t worth diddly-squat!”

Diffy-Screw -Differential equations (MACS 315).

The Brunton is a student handbook published by the Associated Students of CSM.

It contains a campus directory, calendar of events, campus rules and regulations, as well as tons of other useful information about what CSM has to offer. One of the most appealing sections of the Brunton is the coupons that various businesses publish in it each year.
