Sweet Home Mine Tour Colorado's state mineral and the world's finest "RHODOCROSITE" 9 a.m. $100/person - includes lunch, tour and slide show 12 noon - Box Lunch and slide show The historic Sweet Home Silver Mine, is up the road from Fairplay and 4 miles outside of Alma, Colorado. Bryan Lees '85 and the Sweet Home mine crew have graciously agreed to host the mine tour for CSM alumni and friends. The tour will include a short lecture describing the mine's history and geology followed by a guided underground tour showing off Rodocrosite pockets. Ski Pass Blitz Day This on-campus, one-day event is your chance to compare prices and purchase a DISCOUNTED season pass to some of the best skiing Colorado has to offer. Lots of these areas have opened runs to snowboarding as well. Representatives from Loveland, Winter Park, Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Arapaho Basin, Berthoud Pass, Silver Creek and Steamboat Springs will be on hand to answer questions, hand out freebies and sell passes. 4KM Nordic Ski Event for Women Participate on the "CSM Hard-Hat Wearing Team" in the Alkaska Ski for Women fund raiser. This is the 7th annual 4KM Nordic Ski Event that supports the AWAIC shelter for abused women. 11:00am - Classic/diagonal 4 kilometer ski 12:30pm - skate/freestyle 4 kilometer ski Both starts are at the stadium at Kincaid and follow the scenic Mize Loop trail. There will be awards for top finishers, as well as some pretty nice randomly drawn door prizes. First time participants are eligible for a special prize drawing.
