| Bob Irelan, executive vice
president of worldwide operations for Occidental Oil & Gas Corporation, is responsible
for Occidental's worldwide exploration and production business, as well as the 2,500
people working in those businesses around the world. His job includes the allocation of
capital development money, as well as the development of new business opportunities. His
present responsibilities include the U.S., South America, the Middle East, Russia and
Indonesia. Before his present position, Mr. Irelan was with Conoco, Inc. for 30 years. His previous job was regional manager of Conoco Onshore U.S.A. business. From 1989 to 1993 he was responsible for Conoco's exploration and production business in the United Kingdom. From 1987 to 1989 he was responsible for Conoco's worldwide projects and production engineer- ing activities, including major capital development projects in offshore Indonesia, deepwater Gulf of Mexico, Dubai and Ecuador. From 1982 to 1985 he worked in Aberdeen, Scotland, where Conoco was building, installing and operating the world's first deepwater designed tension-leg platform. Mr. Irelan is active in various professional organizations, including the American Petroleum Institute, an executive board of upstream operations; vice chairman of New Mexico Oil & Gas; and chairman of United Kingdom Offshore Operations. Also committed to volunteer work, Mr. Irelan has served as chairman of United Way of Midland, Texas; vice chairman of Community and Senior Citizens; President of Midland Community Theater; and vice chairman of the Petroleum Museum.. |
