| Ralph Peterson serves as
Chief Executive Officer of CH2M HILL Companies, Ltd., an employee-owned organization of
more than 8,000 people, operating in 100 offices on six continents. CH2M HILL is a global
project delivery company providing integrated engineering and construction services to
public and private clients in the fields of water, environment, transportation, industrial
facilities and related infrastructure. Mr. Peterson is active in many professional societies and civil organizations, including extensive work on the Clinton administration's National Environmental Technology Strategy initiative. He serves on the board of directors and is past chair of the Construction Industry Round Table. He has also served on the Board of Directors of The Stapleton Development Corporation and the board of the World Trade Center-Denver. Mr. Peterson is recognized as a co-founder of the Colorado Environmental Business Alliance, a coalition of environmental service and manufacturing companies. He participates as a lead private sector representative in the global climate change arena and participated in China's Agenda 21 Conference in Beijing and in a similar conference for the Philippine Republic. He chaired the Environmental Sectoral workshops at the 1995 Western Hemispheric Trade Forum, served as a U.S. delegate to the 1996 Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit held in Manila, was an industry delegate to the 1997 "Rio+5" Summit in Rio de Janeiro, and most recently was a U.S. industry delegate to the 1999 APEC Summit in Auckland, New Zealand. In addition, he serves as CH2M HILL's representative to the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, and to the Business Environment Leadership Council of the Pew Center on Global Climate Change. A recipient of numerous honors, Mr. Peterson was presented with the Governor of Colorado's 1995 Award for Outstanding International Trade Development in Colorado and was named Chief Executive of the Year in 1996 by the Denver Business Journal. He received the Greater Los Angeles African-American Chamber of Commerce Award for Development of African- American Enterprise in 1996. He was the 1998 recipient of the Oregon Stater Award from Oregon State University, College of Engineering, Academy of Distinguished Engineers. Also, on behalf of CH2M HILL, Mr. Peterson received the George L. Koonsman Corporate Service Award-in, 1998 from Colorado State University's College of Engineering. |
