Space Shuttle Columbia Launch January 16, 2003

The Space Shuttle Columbia lifted off carrying the first CCACS experiment into space.  The experiment will be part of the water mist fire suppression project, under the direction of Tom McKinnon and Angel Abbud-Madrid.  The hardware for the experiment was designed and built here at CSM.  The launch was shown live in our mission control center in the new General Research Building.
